The Education Showroom is delighted to partner with Sumdog, a UK-based organisation dedicated to closing the attainment gap by helping all children reach their full potential and enjoy learning.
An Inclusive Solution Proven To Accelerate Progress For All Learners
With the ever-increasing rise in differentiated needs within the classroom, it’s becoming more and more important for teachers to be equipped with the best tools out there. Tools that can help them quickly and easily identify gaps and tailor interventions, allowing them to focus their teaching time where it is needed the most.
Sumdog is designed to engage students from ages 5 to 14 in mastering mathematics. With its captivating games tailored to individual skill levels, Sumdog makes practicing maths fun and effective.
Teachers can track progress, while pupils enjoy the challenge of solving problems and competing with peers on a safe, motivating and educational platform. Whether at home or in the classroom, Sumdog turns the journey to mathematical proficiency into an adventure that children love to embark on day after day.
Sumdog covers all areas of the maths curriculum and has been independently evidenced to double progress in fluency when used for 30 minutes a week. Sumdog uses multiple-choice questions, embedded within over 35 adaptive learning games, aligned to the National Curriculum and White Rose Maths scheme of learning to engage pupils in maths and foster a lifelong love of the subject.
Supporting a maths mastery approach, Sumdog allows you to address the differentiated needs of your pupils while keeping the class together. The incentivisation of earning coins and rewards helps foster a growth mindset as they’re rewarded for accuracy and time spent practising their core maths skills, feeling proud of their progress and achievement.
Sumdog’s diagnostic tool does all the work for you in identifying and addressing areas of common misconception, highlighting where further teacher support is required. Pupils are then placed on a personalised learning journey with questions that adapt to their level, allowing them to play and learn alongside their classmates, helping to boost confidence and reduce any anxiety about their maths ability.
The library of ready-made tests for pupils to complete in the familiar Sumdog environment, takes the stress out of assessment for both pupil and teacher and our automated marketing and reporting ensures you can focus on identified areas for intervention at an individual, group or whole-class level.
“I’ve been an avid user of Sumdog since 2010 and have seen that regular use of the platform makes a huge difference in maths fluency.”
Jonathan Moorhouse, Assessment Lead and Deputy Head at St Saviour CE Primary School in Bolton
